A new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation is accelerating in today’s world. Driven by innovation and technological development, digital transformation is reshaping society, the labor market and the future of work. Education has become an important player in this process. The growth of connectivity, the widespread use of devices and digital applications, as well as the growing demand for digital skills are all pushing forward digital transformation in education. In this context, World Digital Education Conference (WDEC) will be held in Beijing, China on 13 - 14 February 2023, co-hosted by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO.
WDEC is composed of a plenary session and 4 parallel sessions. The parallel session on "Evaluation of Smart Education Development", held on 14 February, organized by China National Academy of Educational Sciences, will bring together renowned experts on smart education from across the globe, to discuss ideas and policy of Smart Education in the digital era, as well as the mechanism to evaluate the level of development of Smart Education. Through global and comparative perspectives, participants will discuss the principles and methods for evaluation and analyze the current level of smart education development in the world, in an effort to seek theoretical consensus, share best practices and advance the future development of smart education. The session will also introduce China’s Strategic Action Plan for Education Digitalization, progress of the Smart Education of China (SEC) platform, an online portal of educational resources and tools, and China Smart Education Bluebook (2022),Report on China Smart Education Development Index 2022.
